WIMorrison
I have a Lenz Gold Mini that is showing a value of 4 in CV30 yet it runs perfectly and electrically I cannot find any short on the motor or chassis. I have reset the decoder (CV=33) and I assume this worked as the ID went to 3, yet the error remains Anyone any suggestions on what could cause this? Thanks Iain
RMweb Gold RFS Posted September 15, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 15, 2017 According to the decoder manual a value of 4 means track or motor short circuit. If you've reset the decoder and it's come back then you must still have a problem in that area. It could be that the fault is intermittent. I had one of those where the loco suddenly stopped but then restarted. Indeed CV 30 was 4 afterwards. The problem was an intermittent short via the pickups on a particular piece of track. The pickups were the problem not the track.
