PenrithBeacon
http://maps.nls.uk/view/102344048 http://maps.nls.uk/view/101103236 All the history books say that Chequerbent bank replaced earlier cable worked inclines, but I can find no evidence of this on maps. Any ideas anyone?
LMS2968
That second map shows the original alignment slightly east of the later one where they pass below the A6; the stubs were retained for the goods / coal yard. There is a scrap yard there now, but careful searching does show signs of both former routes. There was another deviation a bit further north at Daubhill, again wuith the original stubs left in for sidings purposes.
Nick Holliday
Have you tried old-maps? They have an earlier map which shows the Mineral Railway before the LNWR line wsa built, and you may be able to see the changes. https://www.old-maps.co.uk/#/Map/367500/406500/10/101393 may get you near. Marshall5
IIRC the inclines were covered in Dennis Sweeney's "Lancashire Triangle" (now o.o.p) but I can't remember if they are in vol 1 or 2. Ray.

One might turn up at a show however.https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lancashire-Triangle-History-Railways-Coalfield/dp/0952933306
