Neil McGrath
One of the youngsters at our youth group would like to produce a campsite as part of his layout. Can anyone suggest an easy way to create simple tents in OO gauge? Neil
RMweb Gold The Johnster Posted April 29, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 29, 2018 Use trimmed cocktail sticks for the poles and painted aluminium foil for the canvas. If he really wants to gild the lily, the guys, fine cotton of course, can be anchored into the ground with fine wire pegs. One or two with open door flaps revealing the sleeping bags inside, and Robert is your father's brother...
Steamport Southport
Old fashioned tents are reasonably easy. Just make a frame out of sticks and cover with something like the tissue they use for model aircraft. Modern tents are far more complex though as they are all curves and very few straight lines. Maybe bent wire instead of the sticks or carved balsa wood. Don't forget the obligatory tepee or pyramid. Also quite likely to be bright colours whereas older tents were more usually brown or green. Some examples of real tents here. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=tents&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj166r6zd_aAhWrCcAKHSqqAQIQ_AUICygC&biw=1366&bih=651 Jason
JZ
I bought some vacuum formed tent on eBay. Can't find the same ones, but there are others at very reasonable prices, including some modern style ones.
