37114
Hi Rob A quick question, how is the motor mounted, what holds it in place? And as for the chassis "Oh (not a RMweb word)" !!!!!! Hi Clive, I used Velcro with adhesive on both side in case I needed to ever remove the motor. The underframe tanks are filled with lead as otherwise it is too light. It took some tweaking but it runs ok now.
RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted September 1, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 1, 2018 Thanks Rob, I will keep that in mind. I have had a look at the motor mount of my chassis and all looks OK so I am not touching it. :nono:
Romsey Les
Mark Lodge from Hornby responded to my complaint. He repeated what the guy on the phone had said only rather more politely. At least Hornby responded. The whole lot will be on ebay later this week -- Complete box/cracked body/damaged chassis/all the parts and the broken bits/detailing bits. I hope someone can make use of most of it, maybe a RMweb member.

RMweb Gold Corbs Posted October 4, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 4, 2018 In case anyone else with rotten 31s is interested, I have done 1 Hornby to Airfix conversion and am working on 2 more (1 is using the Hornby body on an Airfix chassis frame with Hornby running gear). This is the first one using the Airfix body and chassis frame. This is the current work in progress using the Hornby 'Skinhead' body on an Airfix frame (£15) These bits of styrene glued to the body hold it at the correct height. More updates coming soon - link in my signature to the clinic thread.
