Large Logo Class 37 with buffer surrounds

Hello

 

Am I right in thinking that 37183 was the only Large Logo Class 37 to retain buffer beam surrounds in that livery?

 

I have an unrefurbished centre headcode 37 sitting here needing a paint job and I don't fancy messing with the buffer beams!

There is a pic of 37183 in LL Blue with buffer surrounds and round buffers in Nick Meskell's 'Scottish Class 37s' book. The date is 5th May 1986.

 

Sorry, no idea if 37183 was the only one like that.

37183 was the only centre box, 37116 was the same but obviously was a split box machine (until it was "vandalised" in Transrail days)

Lovely, thank you!  37183 it shall be then which thankfully was a Scottish loco to boot.

 

I have found photos of it wearing Highland Stags and also what looks like a Motherwell Salmon at one point, did it ever carry an Eastfield doggie though?

In the photo I mentioned above 37183 does not have the Eastfield doggie emblem.

 

In the book the loco is shown as allocated to Inverness in 1984 then Easfield in 1986, eventually moving on to Motherwell.

There we go: 

37183 in N scale with buffer shrouds and sans Dog, Trout, Stag and indeed any other wildlife!  Still a little finishing to do but I am happy with it.
