Judge Dread
What if it snows? Make sure you have a shovel, flask of tea, snow mats, blankets etc, etc, with you. A much better plan would be to watch/listen to the weather reports the night before and if the snow seems to be going to be bad, don't go!! RMweb Premium Dava Posted February 16, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 16, 2019 Excellent little layout, it was at the Quorn GCR show last year. Good to see the Modern Image 0 Gauge Group will be there too. And no sign of snow this year!

RMweb Gold Adrian Stevenson Posted March 2, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 2, 2019 Been to the show today and had a great time. A well run event which was easy to get to and easy parking outside. Came away with a bag, well two actually, full of goodies. Well done to all concerned. Cheers, Ade. 3
Nearholmer
I thought it was an excellent "trade show", plenty of "shopping opportunities", from raw materials to very fancy indeed r-t-r locos, and I saw a lot of interesting products that I didn't know of before, but was slightly surprised by how heavily the balance was in that direction. Mind you, the poster does make the 6:80 ratio clear. The layouts were all very good, and only one had I seen before, but as a non-member, I'd rather hoped to see a greater display of the artistry of those who are members. In that sense, I think the "come and see why people are moving to 7mm" tag-line was overplaying it a bit. I didn't spend a great deal of money (two lengths of brass strip; three sets of wagon wheels; one small hand tool; and, one small photograph), largely because the two traders I was up for spending more with didn't have the facility to take electronic payment, and I couldn't find a cash machine in the venue. Of the traders from whom I did buy, two simply gave me the goods and told me to pay on-line when I got home (I now have), which shows that trust is alive. One to go to maybe once every two or three years, to "look round the shops", from my perspective. Edited March 2, 2019 by Nearholmer 2
RMweb Gold Adrian Stevenson Posted March 3, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 3, 2019 Some pics of the rather nice Harbourne St.Mary's layout. I was impressed with this one. Had a nice chat with operators and the chap who made the superb buildings. 2

south_tyne
I really look forward to seeing some photographs of the show in due course both here and no doubt in the GOG Gazette. Unfortunately I couldn't attend, as it is too far for me to travel in current circumstances, but I hope all those who could get along had a great day! RMweb Gold Adrian Stevenson Posted March 3, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 3, 2019 A few more of Harbourne St.Mary's. The flower beds on the platform were nicely done.

RMweb Gold Adrian Stevenson Posted March 3, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 3, 2019 The superb detail done to the interior of the station building. They kindly allowed me around the back of the layout for a better view. The engine shed is a work in progress as you can see. The shed doors will be servo operated at some point in the future.
RMweb Gold Adrian Stevenson Posted March 3, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 3, 2019 A final shot of the engine shed. The layout could be switched from DC to DCC.
