What if it snows?

Make sure you have a shovel, flask of tea, snow mats, blankets etc, etc, with you.   A much better plan would be to watch/listen to the weather reports the night before and if the snow seems to be going to be bad, don't go!!

I went last year, I know all that. Just testing the GOG preparedness and sense of humor [on bypass mode].

Excellent little layout, it was at the Quorn GCR show last year. Good to see the Modern Image 0 Gauge Group will be there too.

And no sign of snow this year!

Been to the show today and had a great time. A well run event which was easy to get to and easy parking outside.

Came away with a bag, well two actually, full of goodies.

Well done to all concerned.

Cheers, Ade.

I thought it was an excellent "trade show", plenty of "shopping opportunities", from raw materials to very fancy indeed r-t-r locos, and I saw a lot of interesting products that I didn't know of before, but was slightly surprised by how heavily the balance was in that direction. Mind you, the poster does make the 6:80 ratio clear.

The layouts were all very good, and only one had I seen before, but as a non-member, I'd rather hoped to see a greater display of the artistry of those who are members. In that sense, I think the "come and see why people are moving to 7mm" tag-line was overplaying it a bit.

I didn't spend a great deal of money (two lengths of brass strip; three sets of wagon wheels; one small hand tool; and, one small photograph), largely because the two traders I was up for spending more with didn't have the facility to take electronic payment, and I couldn't find a cash machine in the venue. Of the traders from whom I did buy, two simply gave me the goods and told me to pay on-line when I got home (I now have), which shows that trust is alive.

One to go to maybe once every two or three years, to "look round the shops", from my perspective.

I really look forward to seeing some photographs of the show in due course both here and no doubt in the GOG Gazette.

Unfortunately I couldn't attend, as it is too far for me to travel in current circumstances, but I hope all those who could get along had a great day!

The superb detail done to the interior of the station building. They kindly allowed me around the back of the layout for a better view.

The engine shed is a work in progress as you can see. The shed doors will be servo operated at some point in the future.
