ianmacc
I found a manufacturer of military models that make resin kits in 1:72. They do the once ubiquitous Lada and Lada Riva cars that were popular in the U.K. up until the 1990s. Good gap gap filler for 00 railways. not cheap though. 4
fodenway
They are really good models when carefully finished, but I personally could not live with 1/72 vehicles on a 1/76 layout, nor amongst a collection of 1/76 vehicles. As stand-alones though, they are excellent.
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted February 7, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 7, 2019 With a little modification they could be made into a Fiat from which they were derived. As for the scale issue, careful placement should make it less obvious.
JCB 3C no.2
See the box art has a pick up . The similar Polski Fiat pick up was quite common in it's day . Very popular with builder types as they were cheap as chips but they did not last long ! Edited February 7, 2019 by JCB 3C no.2
ianmacc
They do the saloon estate and pickup of the original Fiat derived variant and the later 1980s Riva model. Also a van that I don’t think was sold here based on the estate. Anybody seen any of these made up or even made one themselves? If anybody has it is likely to be the user with the model bus depot (QUICKSILVER?) as they have the most eclectic 00 road vehicles collection on this forum.

Haha, I certainly do have a weird and wonderful collection of road vehicles. I don't have any of those Ladas but they're right up my street. Prices are a bit steep though and all the suppliers seem to be in eastern Europe with massive postage costs. I'd want to see a built example before shelling out that kind of money. PhilJW mentioned the Fiat 124. It seems Armada have made a kit of that as well as the various Lada models. Here's a lovely beige Riva SLX (the posh one) that belonged to my late friend whose Renault 6 I now own. It can't have been very old but was already looking worse for wear.
ianmacc
I couldn’t find any built examples on google. Maybe they’re on military modelling sites under my radar..
