RMweb Gold rodent279 Posted February 7, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 7, 2019 Think I may have posted about this before, but never really got an answer. I did a tour on 9th September 1991, from Paddington to Hereford via Swindon, Gloucester & Newport. Motive power was 47xxx Paddington-Swindon, 6024 Swindon-Gloucs-Newport, 37133 Piloted 6024 to Hereford, 47xxx all the way back to Paddington via Great Malvern. Can anyone tell me what the 47 was please? I'm pretty sure it was the same one from Padd to Swindon, and back from Hereford. Cheers N
Ed-farms
http://www.sixbellsjunction.co.uk/ is usually good for this info, however I cannt see any railtours for 9th Sept 1991 never mind pulled by KEI, are you sure you have the right date
balders
The date ties up with info on the 6024 official info site.....it was the first outing with the groups newly acquired but unpainted support coach. Regards Guy

RMweb Gold adb968008 Posted February 10, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 10, 2019 (edited) According to 6024’s website... Quote The locomotive made more long-haul trips to Derby and elsewhere in 1991. On 9 September 1991 No. 6024 ran from Swindon to Hereford hauling the Society’s newly-acquired (but unpainted) Mark 1 Support Coach No. W35333 https://www.6024.com/about/ on six bells, it lists a “West Mercian (South)” on October 7th 1991, is it likely your looking for a “West Mercian (North)” ? as it would appear to be a reverse route to your railtour ? https://www.sixbellsjunction.co.uk/90s/911007fs.htm Edited February 10, 2019 by adb968008
