loickebros
Hornby themselves are usually the cheapest as long as they have them in stock. Dave

RMweb Gold RedgateModels Posted April 11, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 11, 2019 eBay might be able to help if you know that part number - what's the R number of the loco? - it will help in identifying the service sheet etc
Guest teacupteacup
Lendons of Cardiff also do spares

mswjr
Thankyou for the replies, much Appreciated, Hornby have not got the parts, The loco is quite new, A screw came out of the wheel and jammed the motion and broke the cross head that runs in the slidebars, They do spares for the earlier re built Bulleid pacifics but not this one yet, so im stuck at the moment, not Happy. Porkscratching
That's bad luck, would it be worth emailing them to ask, assuming you just looked thru the listings for your bits? Loickebros, thanks for the heads up re Hornby being cheapest, I just got some valve gear I needed £5.99 as opposed to £18+ on ebay / Peter's etc, good call! Butler Henderson
https://www.acmodelsspares.co.uk/ Best to check Hornbys web site for the appropriate service sheet so you can see the exact part number required for the model you have
mswjr
I will ask my local model shop if they have anything, but after checking the web im not hopefull Thanks MJI, Thanks Butler Henderson i have the part number, but knowone seems to have the part, And yes thankyou Graham 1960 i will take a photo of it tomorrow and put it here . RMweb Premium Daddyman Posted April 12, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 12, 2019 There haven't been any significant upgrades to the WC have there? - certainly not in the valve gear area. Surely the valve gear from an older China-built R-number fits?
Butler Henderson
There are two completely different West Countries - the old Triang model and the current Hornby one - not clear from the original posting which version is being discussed.
mswjr
Hi Guys mine is the latest west country Trevone, The valve gear looks the same as a slightly older one that i have, and the valve gear has a part number and is listed , but not available, every other place that sells Hornby spares list it as out of stock as well, So must be a popular part, Here is a picture, the crosshead is broken ,so will not attach to the slide bars,
RMweb Premium Daddyman Posted April 14, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 14, 2019 If it is the same as any china-built WC (someone may be able to confirm) then that gives you more choice. It's just a question of which one comes back in stock soonest - Trevone or an older one.
Graham456
I don't know old of a model it is, but when my four year oil 31 chassis started growing ! I sent it back to Hornby for them to repair, I wonder if sending the whole thing back to Hornby is option for repair for you. it doesn't have to be a warrantee repair for them to do it, but their service is excellent and they might raid a new model for a bit for you
mswjr
Thanks Guys, I may look at sending it to Hornby for repair, I am just hoping at the moment that the part ( as daddyman says ) May come back into stock, E bay has one but they want 40 pound for it, And thats not happening. Porkscratching
That's good news anyway shows it's worthwhile moaning at them sometimes !
