Rob Thorne
Hello, This is my first post so here goes; does anyone know where I can buy 7mm GWR ribbed wagon buffers for the 1880's? I'm backdating an ex-WEP GWR 2 plank open. The buffers are ribbed with a round base and a photo of them on a one plank wagon is on page 53 in A History of GWR Goods Wagons by Atkins et al (so similar to the later RCH private owner wagon buffers). So far I've tried Warren Shepard, NMRS and the BGS. Any suggestions ?
bgman
You could try here http://www.nmrs-models.co.uk/downloads/NMRS-Models-Catalogue.pdf
wagonman
The design was very similar to contemporary buffers used on the GNR – and by some PO builders – so you could try looking for that.
