Kadee height problem

I've modified quite a few Kadee NEM couplers by melting across the arm with a soldering iron in 2 places to make a Z shaped joggle. that works quite well.

I'd like to know what glue sticks Kadees to anything that doesn't fall off under tension.

It helps if you attack both mating surfaces with a fibreglass brush, until any shine is gone, then use a good (ideally industrial-grade) superglue.

I also drill through both parts and superglue a bit of brass wire into the hole to be on the safe side. If space allows, bend some excess length through right angles above and below the assembly.

That's just what I've done too.

Superglue the kadee to the bottom of the pocket, drill through both parts, then glue a length of wire into the hole.

Cheers,

Phil.

Contact adhesive, after the two surfaces have been roughed up a bit.

- At least the ones I have done that way:yes:
