Its definitely given me inspiration, although I have no Platforms on my layout, which could always change, of course. Diolch yn fawr sir. You need to get your arse over to mine as it's been far too long since our last layout sesh together. With blue skies this morning, I had a bit of inspiration to crack on with a small project I've been meaning to do for a while - sort out the inside corners! Using leftover 9mm plywood, I've managed to come up with this Nothing too spectacular, but it makes a difference. 45 degree corners have been fitted to the inside corners of the layout to help make the scenery flow a bit better as and when I get round to that.

JackB95
Hosted a good friend at my place last night, and along with him, he brought some trains. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. After receiving some attention in the depot, GBRf celebrity 66731 'Capt. Tom Moore' trundles through Conwy light engine A change from the usual blue scene, GWR cucumber 800010 gets ready to come off shed before starting a service from Junction Calm before the storm in the fiddle yard. A row of 37s, 67s, a Voyager, mk2s, mk3s, 68s, 56s and much more await their turn around the layout Now off the shed, 800010 picks up passengers on platform 3 whilst 67010 pulls in with the WAG on platform 4 Railfreight 20118, a new resident of the layout, drags guest loco 90042 through Conwy 37099 takes a rake of IOA ballast wagons past the depot, swiftly followed by cucumber 800010 headed in the opposite direction 800010 passes through Conwy And whilst I could, I went to see what the dummy couplings were able to do on the new Hornby 80X model. Impressed that the nosecones easily come off! But the actual couplings could do with some work, especially given they're not NEM sockets. I believe a few on RMweb have come up with actual 3D printed alternatives that work - certainly something I'd look into should I get a model! Cheers to Jordan for coming over. Most enjoyable. Mol_PMB
Looks great! But I think you need to do some weathering on 66731...

I say, the Captain has got himself a bit dirty! Loving the cleaned S on the side and number on the front! I'll eventually get round to realistic weathering of my stuff. Got some IWA wagons on pre-order from RevolutioN which'll most certainly need a dirtying!
JackB95
A rather exciting email arrived into my inbox last night from JS Models... The main building for Junction has been cut and dry-assembled! Onwards and upwards... Big thanks to Jonathan for his excellent work as always. 6

That's what she said. It's 827mm long. Looks bigger than it is given it's lacking the canopy, but yes, certainly a big boii.

Jonathan was sent a few initial research pictures so he could get a feel for what I was after. A quick sketch was made, then thanks to my mate Ger for getting 20+ photos to make an accurate 3D model, it's all managed to come together quite nicely.

Thankfully I have contacts at Junction station, so one spare shift they were tasked to take a load of pictures. I highly recommend JS models. I'm sure he'd be able to help.
JackB95
Been lucky with having a couple more layout sessions of late. First up was Richard who came round again with some of his more retro stuff: NSE 47715 on a rake of matching Mk2s Swiftly followed by Rf red stripe 37506 But due to a loco 'fault', 20118 was drafted in to help continue the working forward until the Junction Edited September 14, 2023 by JackB95
JackB95
No less than 24hrs later, another friend of mine came round (for the first time since the layout has been built) with a Tornado and charter rake... ... and GWR 'first and last' HST It would've been rude not to do a line up A splash of normality briefly as a 143 153 combo call at Conwy New resident 20118, along with new long term loan 20132, on the MJA boxes Collector's club LT 20142 came out, but couldn't work as I've not got a spare Plux22 chip A fairly successful few days! Always good to have people round. Roll on getting ballast etc down to help hide some of that brown baseboard... Cheers Oh, and platform-end wibble suggests 20227 will be arriving courtesy of Santa soon... A possible contender for a permanent 20132 maybe Edited September 14, 2023 by JackB95 Fixing broken pictures

JackB95
Cheers Neil! Well, today has been one of those 'let's do it' days, and not only have I made some progress on my workbench (shock), but also made progress on an idea I had for the layout the other day. I thought to myself at the weekend "hmmm, I'm sure I have some spare code 75 pointwork somewhere. I wonder if it'd be possible to get a long siding in to help store more trains..." Well, on finding a medium radius right-hand point from my old layout 'Basford Parkway' years ago, I've come up with this: Didn't expect it to fit a full length WAG set with loco, but it does - result. The two loco stabling roads (without fuel) have been extended with the bit of track that was displaced by the new pointwork. Whilst they're only a couple of inches in length, they sure do make the world of difference. I'd say ask my girlfriend about extra inches, but there isn't one to ask The next job on here will be to fill in the gaps with loose sleepers like I've done around the rest of the layout. The sides of the new rails also need a brown wash to match the rest of the layout. Ugh, another tedious job to do. Whilst in this corner of the layout too, I decided to clean the tracks with my Peco track rubber seeings as the CMX never makes it down here. Didn't realise how dull the rails were... Thanks! JackB95
Happy New Year everyone. Hope you've all had a great Christmas and seen 2021 into the history books with success. I watched the NY in just down the road from JSModels' workshop. It would've been rude not to pop by and see what was happening. I shan't bore you with words. My reaction was no doubt very similar to yours. Let the pictures do the talking. There's still plenty to be done. The painting of the building will be down to me, and a fair bit of trial and error will take place on scrap pieces before I fully commit. The canopy pieces are separate to the building, as are the doors and windows, so it'll make my life much easier when it comes to painting the parts. As with everything in the hobby, there are compromises, and my station lies straight on a narrower platform than the real deal, so there are measurement adjustments made to allow for this. I can't thank @JSModels enough for his excellence. Professional service from the word go, and there's still more to come! The footbridge, staircase, and newer waiting room are still work in progress. Cheers! Edited April 1, 2022 by JackB95 13
