Yes, it works with a Powercab. But so do Gaugemaster DCC80s and they are alot cheaper.

I have used them but I have wired them outside of the block detectors. if wired in each detection area then these will show the block occupied even when no loco is in the block. As 298 says the Gaugemaster ones are cheaper especially if you buy the three packs.

Uses faster electronic switching, rather than the relay based DCC80.

Whether that justifies it being more than twice the price of the DCC80 is for others to say.

Interested to note they work with NCE cabs and that they switch faster than DCC 80's !

Just a quick follow up on the frog juicer!

 

I have several DCC 80's and although they work well on standard points, they don't seem to like four/six coupled tank locos traversing 3 way points!

I bit the bullet and bought a Frog1 from Blocksignalling and they are brilliant!  I can now run my H class and P class tanks at really low speeds without any hint of stalling!

I know they're twice the price of an DCC80 but All in all a great bit of kit.
