Options for third and fourth rail in N Scale

Hello

I have been thinking about the best method to represent third and fourth rail in N scale.

Thus far I have considered simply adding rail stripped from flexi track or using small plastic I section  strip/rod as well but not sure with the latter option what size to use to allow for realistic appearance but not foul any passing trains.

Any suggestions appreciated!

Square-section 1mm nickel-silver strip, soldered to brass pins?

Square section is all a bit ‘tube’, but unless you can get very fine rail, rail is possibly going to look out of scale, in a way that it is disguised when it is the running rail of ballasted track.

What are you using as running rail?

Any rail of smaller profile should do the trick. So if you are using Peco Code 55 (really 80), proper Code 55 rail or even Code 40 (as used by fiNetrax) should be fine. "Insulators" will be more of a problem. I am not sure what the smallest round head screws dimension would be.

Many thanks for the suggestions.  I think some lengths of Code 40 rail will do the trick.  Fortunately it is not a very long visible section I am doing.

Much obliged!
