Fredo
I want to change the identity of my Hornby K type Pullmans so only the car number shows on the carriage sides rather than the car number and class for example so that it changes from Third Class Car No 73 to just Car No 73. As there are plastic mouldings going down in line with the window edges I can not just buy stickers to place over the current names as they will cover them. Any ideas I have seen images where someone seems to have done this. Thanks Fredo
RMweb Premium Hilux5972 Posted October 9, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 9, 2019 The easiest way is to use water slide transfers. My Preferred supplier is Railtec. You just have to remove the old names and then apply these transfers. Using Decal-Fix solution or something similar will soften the decal and allow it to mould around the raised detail on the Pullman sides. I’ve done this and had no issues at all. Hornby have to date released the 'Queen of Scots' all steel K cars in two versions. As originally seen on the LNER with window blinds (out of view) and the third class branding where applicable. In BR service condition with curtains in the windows, and no class branding, thus 'Car No XX'
