RMweb Gold Sweet pea Posted November 4, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 4, 2019 Morning I hope this is not a silly question to ask. If OO gauge is also known as 4mm scale, what is N gauge also known as.
RMweb Premium Ian Morgan Posted November 4, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 4, 2019 Simple answer - 2mm Correct answer, depends: British N scale is 1:148, so about 2 and a sixteenth mm to the foot, which makes the 9mm gauge too small (like OO). US and European N scale is 1:160 which makes 9mm gauge correct. Japan tend to be 1:150, but they use 9mm gauge to represent both narrow gauge (which most of their railways are) and standard gauge. British 2mm Finescale uses 1:152 scale and 9.42mm gauge track. 1
