eldomtom2
Am I correct in assuming that getting the loco back into the styrofoam insert requires separating the loco and tender, and if so how is this done?
RMweb Premium Hilux5972 Posted January 5, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 5, 2020 There’s a screw on the drawbar. Disconnect from tender and pull out white plug
RMweb Premium melmerby Posted January 5, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 5, 2020 Many Hornby locos of the past also had a metal "L" shape bracket which was held by one of the chassis screws and kept the loco firmly in place in the foam moulding. Butler Henderson
Alternatively trim the Styrofoam so that it fits.

Butler Henderson
Held mine sufficiently for transport to exhibitions - if the tender seems a bit loose just pva some of the offcuts or appropriate packaging where necessary. In the same manner I cut the modern clear packaging to ensure a model will refit with the detail parts on.
