I'm now looking at the iwata neo

It's probably worth mentioning that there are two versions of the neo. The CN, which has a 0.35mm needle and nozzle, and the BCN with a 0.5mm needle and nozzle.

I bought the complete CN airbrush, and also a spare BCN needle and BCN nozzle set. The BCN parts are compatible with the CN and together they give you the choice of very fine detailing or covering a wider area.

I've just ordered the cn version. Is that going to be ok for painting 4mm scale stock? YouTube videos suggest it will be.....

Yes, 0.35mm needle is fine. My H&S Evolution has 0.4 and 0,2mm needles and use both on 4mm stock.
