Bob Hordern
Here we go heading over onto board #2 (left half of photo). This will get a bit of re-wiring as I’m reverting to Tortoise motors from the previous servos, then the scenery needs freshening up. Bob Hordern
Here’s where I’ve got to at present with Lofthouse. Most of the baseboards are now re-wired with tortoises, servos and electromagnets - and a DCC bus.

Bob Hordern
Goods yard scene getting closer but those trees will need a revamp. Time to plan the ID backscene I guess. Edited May 15, 2023 by Bob Hordern

Bob Hordern
Last piece of the jigsaw. The yard shunt (from original layout) should just fit beneath the sliding fiddle yard traverser. LMS 4F #3999 runs around the short goods train. Edited July 22, 2023 by Bob Hordern

bluestag
I see you run Dinghams. How do you like them? I find mine get out of alignment if packed poorly in a box. My chums all run three links. Madness.
Bob Hordern
Yeah. Historic choice I guess as inventor was colleague in my club. Your right about adjustment but can’t do with 3 links and hand of god! Dinghams ok at home but less good travelling to exhibition.
Bob Hordern
Been working on the Transfer Board that links Lofthouse to my exhibition layout Kirtley Bridge. Managed to realign this trackwork and squeeze the radius of the curve out to 43 inches. Also a little super-elevation helps, though this gets tricky where the curve reverses. The curved line runs around to Lofthouse whilst the siding is used when the traverser is in place at exhibition. brossard
Delightful layout and great job with the refurbishment. I noticed you mentioned Tortoises earlier. I have a bit of advice if you are not already aware, get the Circuitron edge connectors. These have screw terminals and are much better that soldering direct to the board. http://www.ovrtrains.com/Circuitron-6616-ZipZ-TM-Connection-System-For-Tortoise-TM-and-SMAIL-TM-Kit-6pk.html A similar product can be seen on my layout: If you need to replace the board: https://tonystrains.com/product/800-6506-circuitron-tortoise-tm-switch-machine-replacement-parts-circuit-board Ignore the shop, I daresay you can get these in UK. Bob Hordern
This is really the end. The traverser will sit at this end of Lofthouse and I am presently planning the backscene there. Probably 90% sky. A 4F runs down into the station......
