Marmight
Just a quickie and I’m not sure if it hasn’t been answered before. The BR version has black buffer beams. Shouldn’t they be red? I know the departmental ones were red.. Cheers Martin
Steamport Southport
I would assume so. My 4mm scale Model Rail Departmental one has red buffer beams. This one definitely did. https://www.flickr.com/photos/swift-valley/4127931249 Jason
Marmight
Hi Jason, Yes the Departmental ones had red buffer beams as did the LNER ones, but what did the BR ones have? black as in the model or red...
Steamport Southport
I would assume red. I doubt BR in the 1950s would be letting locomotives run about without red buffer beams. The unions would be in uproar. Red and black are notoriously difficult to tell apart in black and white photos. Its finding a colour photo of them. It's probably another Dapol mistake unfortunately. Marmight
That’s what I thought. How can they make such a fundamental error? Hi Jason, Yes the Departmental ones had red buffer beams as did the LNER ones, but what did the BR ones have? black as in the model or red...
Marmight
These are pics of my Brother’s engine. I think it looks a lot better than plain black
