Albie the plumber
Bifs version is certainly one of the best . Love the sound of the 'fill' as the driver selects forward . It does sound as if the revs are limited so I use it on freights. The Jamie Goodman version does have a great thrash so it just about wins it for me . Both on my layout and both very good . Paul Chetters version is very good too .
Gopher
I have not heard Jamie's version but can also vouch for Bif's and Paul Chetter's version - use both on my own Westerns. I think the Howes sounds are very good, but they lack the "driveability" of more recent sound projects from Bif, Digitrains ,You Choos , Mr Soundguy, Wheeltappers - so personally I do not use their sounds anymore .
