bordercollie
Whilst I realise that Bettabitz coaches sides were designed as an overlay for the Hornby Clerestory coaches, I was wondering if they can be used in the same way as sides produced by Worsley Works, amongst others
Steamport Southport
They can. When 247 Developments used to sell them they were sold as sides. But they also did many of the other parts such as ends and bogies. The ends were whitemetal ISTR. No idea who has now go them though. bordercollie
Thanks Jason I have 7 x bettabitz sides already, but only 3 R122 Hornby coaches. As the clerestories seem to go at high prices on ebay I was wondering if the sides could be used as per other companies that produce sides. If I understand you correctly they can be. Steamport Southport
Yes. The previous owner of 247 Developments used to sell most of the parts to make them as proper kits and he added some himself such as the bogies which are still available but many are currently out of stock. The rest of the coach parts went back to whoever owned them. I can't remember who it was. Maybe get in touch with Brian from 247 as he'll know. I have a sneaky feeling it was Stevenson Coaches. The remains of the range are on the website. The bogies are at the bottom of the page. https://www.247developments.co.uk/Carriages.html Jason Edited June 16, 2020 by Steamport Southport Stevenson rather than Stephenson.
