This morning, I've realised I've fitted vac pipes to an unfitted ZTO.

We’re there any ZTPs?

I must have been one of the lucky one!  My daughter started sleeping through the night from 4 months old!  It's not the sleepless nights, it's having eyes in the back of your head, as well as a sixth sense, when they start toddling around!

Day 4 of 365:
A little bit more done on the ZTP. Some more research turned up a good reference photo for weathering. ZTO code removed and painted some brushed markings to the body sides. I used a fibre glass pencil to ruff the marking up once the paint was dry. Handrail moved for ease of adding transfers.

Day 5 of 365:
I've started another Polybulk, because the other projects now require varnish ready for the transfers. I've added stripes down the side of the grey polybulk, as per the prototype photo I'm referencing. These will be toned down during weathering. I assume they are caused by the hood as it's opening and closing?
Also fit the Screw links.

Day 6 of 365:
I've ordered another of these ICI TTBs, so this one will be renumbered. Transfers ordered, last digit of the number and Methanol markings removed. Both of the prototype wagons have a grey painted patch in the centre, so this has been masked up ready for spraying. Also added the weld lines to the other side of the grey Polybulk.

Day 7 of 365: I've managed a whole week! 😜
Been to my local war gaming shop today, to chose a few paints for the ZTP.
Mixed up a couple of washes to tone down the green, and age the bodyside.
Mixes of Games Workshop Dawnstone Grey, Sons of Honus Green, Vulkan Green and Typhus Corrosion.
Once dry, I've added some horizontal streaks with Heavy Charcoal as per this photo:

Tops code and new number applied. I've taken the opportunity to try a different approach to the weathering process, I'm not convinced it works, but it's not finished yet either.

Looking good. I'm experimenting with acrylics on wagons at the moment too as Thing 1 has decided to try his hand at weathering and having a more limited range of chemicals within reach is preferable!

Brilliant. Get them interested and keep them keen.

I've always used enamel paints until recently. I like acrylic in many ways, but they behave differently.

Day 9 of 365:
Admittedly, not much done tonight. Mainly due to research for what's next. I've only managed to fit bufferbeam pipework to the Polybulks and screw links to one of the BBA's. I need to get in the shed and make a start with the airbrush, but that might have to wait until the weekend.

Day 10 of 365:
The builders working on the site by the canal have bought a brand new Transit! 'Dodgy Dave' has claimed the driving seat of the 1990 work horse. His legs were trimmed to get him in, and they are now safe in the back of the van 🤣

I have known some odd things be left in the back of hire vans ...but never a pair of legs!  Lovely layout and detailing work though.

It's illegal to drive when you're legless!

Day 12 of 365:

Gloss varnish and transfers added to the Ciba-Geigy TTB, (until I ran out of number 7's). 🙄

Primed then painted the new handrails with Army Painter Griffon Blue, which is a good match. The Polybulk has had gloss varnish applied ready to add the Tiger logos too.

Day 14 of 365:

The Ciba Geigy TTB now has a Stenson Models walkway which replaces the incorrect Bachmann one. I used masking tape and pen marks to determine where to drill the locating holes for the walkway. Walkway primed and painted but may need another coat of Griffon Blue.

Also finished the remaining numbers with a new decal sheet arriving this morning.

Just the end ladder to do now before weathering.

*Working with fine brass and bending it without a hold and fold are not my strong points. It's not perfect but I can live with it.

The Polybulk and BBA have also had a coat of matt varnish before weathering can commence.

Day 15 of 365:

Back to the Polybulk today and in the shed with the airbrush for phase one of weathering.

I lost a handwheel somewhere along the way, so that was replaced with a Stenson Models substitute.

I masked up the painted white section, tiger logo and data panel as these appear much cleaner on the prototype photo. The masking was removed part way through airbrushing.

Happy with it so far.

Day 16 of 365:
Back to the Ciba Geigy TTB. I've fitted the Stenson Models end ladder and walkway above the bufferbeam. Also made new footsteps from some brass bar, as they are different to those on the Bachmann model.
I think it's finished and ready for some weathering.

Day 19 of 365:
Ive finished the TTB today. I started by mixing Electric Blue and Sons of Honus Green to get a nice weathered tint as per the prototype photo.
I masked the Ciba-Geigy and PROCOR logos, as these appear cleaner than the rest of the tanker. I then sprayed the tank body with the paint mix. The chassis and tank centre were sprayed with Brown Leather and Charcoal Grey. I also used Charcoal Grey to dry brush around the logos before removing the masking tape. At this point and a coat of matt varnish applied. This was followed by the usual wash, a little mid grey but mostly dark grey.
Standard Bachmann and mine side by side for comparison.
