I believe the 422 Class are hydraulics, with torque converter. Edited February 16, 2021 by Ruston

Ruston
It used to be preserved and went back into industry. I remember it being painted brown when it was at the Middleton Railway. I went there a few years ago, saw a 422 Fowler and thought it had gone back to them but it was another, different, Fowler of the same class. It's claim to fame was that it appeared on national television news, in the background, after the crash on the ECML in 2001.
Mark Saunders
It was replaced by a 4w chain drive Sentinel about a year ago. If I remember correctly it is a former MSC one. 1 1
doilum
Sorry I have done what I should have done to start with. The Google image of the Plasmore Fowler isn't the one in the picture I was shown. This is a ,0-4-0 in the Thomas Hill style. It looks a bit like the one at Prince of Wales Pontefract. The picture was taken on Saturday morning. I really need to learn how to move images from one part of the tablet to another!!
