I used to faff around with fulcrum bars (tortoise) but after input from St.Enodoc I have adjusted to min force max throw and found them to be fuss free fitting.  (Assuming you have no over c3 tre sprinting to need an increased force.)

Clever!

Paul.

Yep, I removed the springs from my 'recycled' points and the ones given to me by Matt had already been used on slow action motors and therefore had them removed already

Thanks

A mini bit of progress

The mini control panel for the fiddleyard operator has been fitted today

This panel will enable the fiddleyard operator to control arrivals and departures to/from platforms 1 & 2 and the middle road without needing to access the main panel which will be located further up the layout

Platforms started

This week I started on the platforms.  I used an MDF base so the signals, lights etc have a solid mounting point

In the above picture, you can see me using a MK3 coach to test clearances. It will be bigger than any Buxton stock used so should mean everything I run fits! 🤞🏻

With the MDF part completed I added the ramps using scraps of plastic card lying around

If the clearances are OK during a test session, I will fit the tops (if adjustments are needed the MDF is only screwed on from underneath)  I will leave these for now and start on the siding walkways next.

Thanks for looking

Siding walkways started

I have now been working on the four wooden walkways at the sides of the three sidings (in later days only two walkways remained - either side of the siding nearest the depot building)

Here you can see the progress made on the first three walkways

Today I spent more time on the siding walkways, it's slow progress but it will be worth it in the end.

This view is how I left it today -  adding to the three walkways already started and starting the fourth

Well worth the while adding those walkways, the extra attention to detail to make it look like the real place.

Walkways painted

Spent a bit of time in the garage today painting the walkways.  I used a little bottle of cheap acrylic dark brown paint from The Range

Overall I think it looks good for now (some patches are still wet in the second pic)

Main control panels

Today was spent working on the main control panels.  I decided to split the panel at the board join so there are fewer wires crossing the board join.

In effect it is one panel split at the board join

559985443_052mainpanels.thumb.JPG.20ed946185e213580be119fffffc7e68.JPG

I have made the "shed" tracks red to make it easier to identify the correct button(s) to press to set the road for the shed tracks or sidings

thanks

The reverse side of the control panels

There circuit boards are two Lenz LRC120 Loco address displays.  These will display the address of what is on the shed tracks - only the first Railcom enabled DCC fitted stock in the section will be displayed and if stock without Railcom enters the shed it will just display nothing

I have mounted them using some Lego (other construction toys are available...)   1x2 bricks were superglued to the underside of the panel and 1x2 tiles superglued to the circuit boards of the displays.  This allows them to be removed for wiring up and fault-finding.

Other switches for signals etc will be added at a later date when needed

Glad to see things coming along nicely, I've always liked that location and thought it would make a good model. Nice idea with the Lego too👍

Don't you need 2 buttons per point? Or am I missing something?

Hi

On the Cobalt IP digital point motors i am using, you connect the push button and press it to change the route then press it again to change back

The OP is using Cobalt Digital IP motors.

These are not just exclusively DCC accessory command operated.

They can also be manually controlled using two pushbuttons - OR - in this case - one button to toggle the direction.

Connect two pushbuttons across terminal 7 (PBS-L), 8 (PBS-C) and terminal 9 (PBS-R) and 8 (PBS-C)

You can also use a spring to centre SPDT toggle switch connected to 7/8/9.

Or: a single pushbutton can be connected across 7 and 9 to toggle the operation of the motor.

Regards,

The DCCconcepts Team.

(edit: Just seen the OPs reply)

(edit: PBS info added)

Yes Matt

From the 109,000 Lego parts I have, I found the ones I needed 🤣
