zoro
Could I just ask a quick question, which will have an easy answer, if you happen to already know the answer. What was the visible differance between a Brush built 47 and a BR built 47?
divibandit
Hi Zoro, As far as I'm aware there are no differences, apart from makers plates. Steve Edited November 13, 2021 by divibandit Add name
RMweb Premium EEType4 Posted November 13, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 13, 2021 I'm not sure of the exact details but I seem to recall something along the lines of Brush builds originally having a single overhead live wire sign below the headcode panel with Crewe builds having one either side. Also the Brush locos having 2 small reinforcement plates above the draw book, Crewe locos a single long one.
45125
The tail lights open upwards on a Crewe build Brush open to the side. The horn grill on a Crewe one is a lot flatter than its Brush counterpart. And if you look at the top of the cab between the windows a Crewe one has "eye brows " over each window whereas a Brush one has continuous "eyebrow". Al Taylor.
