RMweb Premium Ian Morgan Posted May 30, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 30, 2022 Today some members of the Basingstoke & North Hants Model Railway Society visited the Network Rail ROC in Basingstoke to hand over a diorama to their Safety Officer. Several club members were involved in its construction. The diorama will be taken to schools in the south to aid discussion about being safe around railways. The diorama was built using Scale Model Scenery's 'Layout in a Box' baseboards that fit into a 'Really Useful Box' for ease of transport. The diorama is static, except for a fully functioning level crossing. There are lots of little people doing very silly, dangerous things. How many can you spot? 13 2
Multigauge
Great stuff. Good idea regarding building it for ease of transport. Nice to see the particularly ineffective anti trespass witches hats modelled; were scratch built or from a manufacturer?

I will have to check this evening. I only made the level crossing.
Jerry1975
Fantastic idea and some great modelling, a great way to educate children ( and some adults ) of the dangers on a railway and how not to behave. Jerry.
Mr chapman
Man that takes me back! I remember a visiting model by network southeast along the same lines. Warning about track voltage, level crossings etc. I even got a NSE lunchbox printed like an emu. I haven't thought about that in 30 years... Great idea for a layout :)
