Midland Railway semaphore signal at Ketton signal box and level crossing

I want to build a small diorama of Ketton signal box in 4mm, and though it’s all MAS signalling, there’s a single MR lower quadrant signal being used.  I’m thinking of using a GWR lower quadrant as they do seem to look very similar (in my eyes).  If not the GWR signal, anyone else suggest something suitable?

Apart from former GW lines, it must be know the only remaining LQ signal on Network Rail. Can anyone say different?

there is the ex GN somersault at Boston docks, although i believe this is no longer working and is used as a glorified stop board. Also it isn't technically NR, being on port land. other then that, i believe its unique in being LQ off ex GW/BR(W) territory.

This was another Midland one that survived into the 1980's, the photo being taken in January 1981.  It was round the back of Leicester station and was presumably eliminated during the 1980's Leicester resignalling programme.

It really depends how fussy you are. I would say that a GWR signal is as like a Midland signal as a Hall is like a Black 5- they do the same thing with the  same basic components, but they are recognisably different shapes 😮

I’ll be ordering the MSE kit soon, but first I need to find someone who can assemble the kit as a working signal as that’s beyond my limited abilities.

It is a fairly stright forward signal, I have built MR signals in both 4mm and 7mm. I have included a photo of 2 bracket signals I made a little while ago, painting is in the style of the LMS period, so a little different. Parts were mainly from Wizard (MSE), though posts were from own brass etchings. I take no credit for the rest of the scene, though I did build all the pointwork.
