RMweb Premium melmerby Posted August 28, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 28, 2022 Hi all "The Train" gets another showing on BBC2 today Sunday 28th August at 14:20. IMHO one of the best WW2 train based adventures mainly because they use real trains. 4 2 1

Highly recommended.

RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted August 28, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 28, 2022 One of the 'Crash' scenes, where the Cameras are at Rail/Ballast level and one gets dislodged as the smaller Loco becomes derailed, in a built up area, had to be insured for liability of over a Million Dollars at the time of the film IIRC. From a John Huntly (RIP) Film Show many years back where he played the whole Film for the second half of the Show. Lancaster learned how to 'drive' the Loco's I believe? IMO one of the greatest railway Films; apart from the machine gunning of the Patriots on the Loco near the end....horrible. Thanks for the heads up Keith.

And how to do some of the workshop stuff earlier in the film I think.
