Poole Miniature Railway in Dorset (10 1/4" gauge) was derailed a week after opening, apparently sabotage

i know nothing about the railway and ive never been there this just came up on the news feed

Although I take an interest in miniature railways this isn’t one I’ve been to (yet). However there is this from a few years ago: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5758863/amp/Popular-Poole-Park-Dorset-closed-40-volunteers-walkout-row-new-managers.html

 

The previous derailment and volunteer strike were, if I remember correctly, also reported in either Miniature Railway magazine or Narrow Gauge World, possibly both. The ‘sabotage’ angle is new to me though, and the suggestion that this applies to both of the derailments is interesting. I can’t remember if there was anything further in the railway press about other underlying reasons for the volunteer strike, or to what extent volunteers were involved with the previous private operator.
