Will definitely have the try and get over for this show, looks to plenty to see layout wise, hopefully I’ll have a job starting or finishing in Bescot or small heath

if nothing else it’s worth the trip to get a photo of this nearby street sign!

One of the gems making its final appearance at out show

An award winning Modelmaker is bringing his layout to what is scheduled to be its last ever exhibition. Chris Peacock’s layout ‘Calstock Halton Quay will be at the Cradley Heath Model Railway Exhibition on the 8th October at St Michaels High School, Rowley Campus, Curral Road, Rowley Regis B65 9AN for what is possibly its last ever showing.

Based on the Tamar Valley in Cornwall the layout not only shows the port and the way that goods were transported in Briton before the advent of the juggernaut, but also show the myriad ways of life shown at that time. Chris who hails from North Devon became fascinated with the way of life shown by people in the 1860’s and set out to capture what he saw in old photographs in 3D. Not only successfully doing this but he also learnt a lot of the stories that surrounded those pictures and lectures around the country about copper mining and the way of life that the men, balmaidens, and children suffered under.

Here you go @big jim!

Its about half a mile from my office and is on my route into work. The locals have tried to get it renamed a couple of times as the school kids who live down there are always getting the mick taken out of them 🤣

Having got to grips and built the lighting pelmet ready for the Cradley show on the 8th I've gone down with the lurgy and have had to cancel. Very disappointed. Excuse the mess but I didn't want any fresh paint to drip on the layout.
