Autumn is here, the leaves are falling outside – a great time for a read of our new November 2022 issue of BRM, and episode of WOR TV.

It's now live – the latest issue of BRM magazine with a collection of inspiring layouts, and thought-provoking practical projects with ideas for your modelling projects. BRM is enjoyed by our non-modelling readers, too – and those who dream about constructing a model railway, or diorama, "some day".

Included with the digital edition of this issue and for print subscribers (print copies are on sale October 7) is the November 2022 episode of WOR TV, this time featuring Giles Baxter's model of York station in 'OO', constructing an O gauge wagon on the assembly line at Dapol's Chirk factory, and, how a steam locomotive is lit – and enjoyed – at the Stapleford Park miniature railway. Watch a preview of the November 2022 episode of WOR TV in the video, below:

Layouts inside the November 2022 issue:

York 26.jpg

York station in 'OO'. A magnificence in architectural prowess, this work-in-progress by a retired Royal Engineer puts his lifetime accumulation of skills to excellent use.

BRM November 2022 Canada Street 3.jpg

Canada Street (EM). Inspiration for this generic dockside layout came from many sources, though each shared a common feeling of neglect and industrial decay.

AY Freshwater (14).jpg

Freshwater (2FS). Based on the prototype located on the Isle of Wight, with a mele of operational artistic licence, proved a satisfying compromise for Ian Morgan.

Sharing ideas throughout the community is a large part of what drives model-making, as a hobby, forward. Faster ways of making something, easier ways of creating something, ways to make an effect look more realistic, for instance. These are the foundations upon which BRM was built, and we hope that some of the great projects inside our November 2022 issue will inspire more of you to get modelling.

Read our practical and review content (and more!) inside this issue here.

We hope you enjoy the November 2022 episode of BRM, with WOR TV, available to download as a digital edition, which includes 46 extra images that we couldn't fit into the printed edition, a further eight videos and bonus articles on: historical lines south of the solent, constructing a small dockside diorama and admiral's barge, and modelling York station.

We hope you enjoy the issue!

As part of the November 2022 episode of BRM TV, @Phil Parker and I were granted access to the Stapleford Park miniature railway, where we lit its No. 751 John H Gretton and toured a complete circuit of the line. World of Railways Plus members can watch a complete circuit of the line too, by logging into their account and streaming the content. Watch a preview of what we got up to, below:

Enjoy the episode!

As well as being a great issue! I was particularly grateful of the free masking paper that came with it

😆

Joking aside, I believe that one magazine about model making has recently offered some masking tape as a subscription "persuader".

Meanwhile, newsstand editions of some other magazines have recently had packs of small sanding pads taped to their front covers.

Strange concept that - not the "freebies" - but the thought of people actually building and modifying things. I wonder if it will ever catch on ... .

Brilliant issue.  York Station and Roundhouse are to be highly commended and the model wholly captures the atmosphere of the prototype.  It’s so hard to get that curved roof right and when done properly it is a thing of real beauty to look at.  Whoever the modeler was that said that a curve is infinitely better than a straight line was absolutely spot on.  I am looking forward to the promised updates for this layout.
