Haggerleases
Hello all. In 1981 I was 7 years old. I remember going from Darlington to Newquay on a train for a family holiday. I seem to remember it was mostly overnight? Does anyone have any idea what type of loco it would have been? Im appealing to your knowledge. My memory so far back is very fuzzy. Peak? Stew. RMweb Premium Davexoc Posted October 14, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 14, 2022 NE-SW service so maybe a Peak Class 46 or possibly 45 although they were on their way out so more likely a Class 47.
Flood
The last year Class 46s were seen on passenger services at Exeter was 1984 and the 45/0s were hardly touched before the HSTs went onto cross country services from 1982. Class 47s tended to work Newquay - Manchester with Peaks on the Newquay - Newcastles but obviously variations did occur.
