Ian Mantel
Does anyone have any pictures or detail of the coaches and/or vans used by the Engineers Department BR SR? I am looking particularly at the late 1950's era when the crane was painted black with small crest. If anyone has specific information about the Exmouth depot 75 ton crane and its formation that would be ideal, otherwise the general practise of BR Southern Region, please. RMweb Premium Mallard60022 Posted October 27, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 27, 2022 I have a couple of pics in books but nowt really detailed. I believe one Support Coach was an Ironclad. I'll see if I can dig them out Ian. Phil

KeithMacdonald
Sadly this pic on Flickr only shows the front of the crane and no clear view of the wagons or vans behind. Ian Mantel
Thanks for the help folks. SR Ironclads get mentioned consistently. And @Mallard60022has kindly shared many photos. What colour would they have been painted? SR Green, BR Black? Or something else.

Hi @Mallard60022Thanks for all your help on this, greatly appreciated. I know that BR went to using red in the early 60's, were they using red back in the 50's as well for the support vehicles with just the crane in black?
