Staffordshire
Hello, I am hoping to create a model of the LBSCR / SR /BR D3 0-4-4T locomotive in 4mm (OO gauge) ... The starting point is going to be the Roger Chivers Kit ... The first information I require is concerning the dimensions and spoke numbers of both the Driving and Bogie wheels ... Any information greatly appreciated, many thanks, Ian
RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted January 17, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 17, 2023 Would that be a Billinton design from 1894? Mike Sharman's wheel specification book lists a '3' (could be a missing print letter 'D'). If it is .....Driving 5'6" 18 spokes. Crankpins inline with spokes. Trailing 3' 0" 8 spokes. Hope that this might help.
Steamport Southport
If you are going with Gibson you need 4867 5` 6" 18 spoke inline 4836H 3 foot 8 spoke I don't know if Markits do the correct type as I don't tend to use them. But I expect so. I went for the J 0-6-4T instead, but bought the wheels for the D3 at the same time as the driving wheels are the same size. They use the ones mainly meant for the M7.
