GREAT EASTERN MODELS NAMED ‘BACHMANN RETAILER OF THE YEAR’ FOR 2022

 

 

Bachmann Europe has relaunched its coveted Retailer of the Year Award with the announcement that Great Eastern Models of Norwich, Norfolk are the winners for 2022.

Anne Martin and Helen Arnold who run the family-owned business were presented with the award in December 2022 by their Regional Account Manager, Stuart Daine, and Tony Lowe, Bachmann’s Model and Hobby Sales Manager.

Tony said: “Keeping model shops on the high street is a key focus for Bachmann Europe – and something we believe to be vitally important to the continued prosperity of our industry as a whole – and the Retailer of the Year award helps us to acknowledge those shops that go above and beyond in helping us achieve that objective. Bachmann does not put itself in competition with its retailers, instead we encourage, support and help them to thrive and Great Eastern is a fantastic example of what can be achieved from that relationship – a ‘traditional’ model shop, serving its community by offering professional advice on a wide range of quality products and how best to use them.”

On receiving the award, Anne said: “We are thrilled to receive the Bachmann Retailer of the Year Award, we are a small independent shop with a big heart, we pride ourselves on good old fashioned customer service and really try and treat all our customers and visitors to our premises or online Facebook page like family. We love what we do and hope it shines through. We work hard to create a fun and relaxed environment and offer a one stop shopping experience to all our customers.”

The Bachmann Retailer of the Year Award was launched in 2001 and was presented annually thereafter, until 2019. After Model Railway Solutions of Dorset were named 2019 Retailer of the Year, the award took a break during 2020 and 2021 as shops were forced to close their doors for extended periods due to the Covid-19 pandemic. With full trading now resumed, the coveted prize is available once again and will continue to be presented each year to an outstanding Bachmann retailer.

I ask my self what have Bachmann done for GER fans?   The J70, N7 and the W&U items are not from Bachmann.  What about a J67 or E4 then Bachmann?

Why have you taken a post congratulating a shop as a reason to grumble and come up with a wishlist? Wish the shop well and be done with it.

They are very supportive of local groups and exhibitions including the Norfolk & Suffolk Narrow Gauge Modellers i'm a member of.
