Sithlord75
In the end I set the pieces up on my resin printer at home - although the large pieces for the platform elevation and the base plate didn't work out, the rest came up quite well - I suspect better than on a PLA printer given the window arches. I'll have to think about how I'll replicate the windows - possible etched, possibly printed and plugged in. Easier to paint if not part of the print. Aussie 5c coin for scale - I couldn't find any pence. It's just under 10 scale feet... I also took the opportunity to test print the train shed support column. The resin I've used is a harder resin than normal and I'm hoping that it will be robust enough but I think a suitable diameter length of brass with potentially 3DP tops and bottoms might be a better option.

Sithlord75
eSun Geoff - I got it from Jaycar when they didn't have any of the Anycubic Black I normally use. Needs longer curing than the Anycubic but seems to be better for thinner parts. Jury still out on it.
Heacham
My Dad worked in St Albans in the 60s and took some pictures of the Abbey Station one of the things that amused us was that there was a tank wagon in the yard in Cinzano livery the only answer we could come up with that it came in bulk and was bottled at the Roses drinks bottling plant. I will try and find the pictures and scan them. Simon 1

The siding by the South box on the MR mainline was where they transferred the Cinzano from tank wagons to Roses in the later 1960s. I hadn't thought of them using Abbey stn earlier. Paul I may be wrong with the location then I just assumed as it was filled with the Abbey photos. I have since found that the Roses plant was in Grosvenor Road that is next to the MR station and there is a close called Lime Tree Place of it which could be where the plant was. Sithlord75
I’d be interested in any photos you’ve got Simon - even the possibly at St Albans City Cinzano tanker (my mum used to drink Cinzano - not in the tanker load mind!).
Heacham
I have found some pictures dad took. Quality isn't brilliant but they were taken with an old 127 format camera and developed in the kitchen nearly 60 years ago. Sithlord75
Having stalled progress whilst @Laurie2milvery kindly did a smashing job of temploting everything (two tandems, a turnout with two catch points in it and so on) I also obtained some solder balls (eBay) and brass chair plates (Shop 1) . End of semester holidays in 8 business days (who’s counting) and so I’ve that long to clear the current builds (LSWR horse boxes - some for Yeovil) and *ahem* tidy the work bench before proper track building commences. Fortunately there is a test series of some note starting anon and a Bike Race in July. Plenty of building opportunities present.

RMweb Premium St Enodoc Posted September 29, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 29, 2023 Great to see the layout in embryonic form last week - and also Wansbeck Road of course! Looking forward to more progress. 1

There are a number of former ex-Watford Junction colleagues that would be interested to see these on a Facebook group I am part of - would you mind if I shared them with the appropriate credit? hayfield
Being born just south of Watford I have caught the St Albans flyer many times, used to cycle cross country to Bricket Wood station etc. Never remembered the gasworks or sidings though
