Carl BR
For anyone who normally comes to the Preston show by train to Preston station then bus to the venue please be advised that Preston station will be closed over the weekend of the show for engineering works. There is plenty of parking at the venue for any additional cars that may turn up as a result of the closure.

So best to ignore that map. HTH.
Jeremy Davison
Thanks Phatbob for pointing this out, I've asked for the website to be updated. Now only two days to go until the exhibition, and only one until set-up tomorrow!! Safe travels everyone.

Jeremy Davison
Exhibition Bus Services There is a frequent bus service from Preston Bus Station using routes 19 & 19a (recommended) as well as 23 & 22 (which are the best if you are coming from the train station). From the No 22 service terminus at the the Royal Preston Hospital. and the No 23 service stop at the entrance to Sherwood Way it is a short walk to the Exhibition. The 19 and 19a stop right next to the college. For directions for Buses to The Exhibition from Preston Railway Station Click here Destination map. RMweb Gold Markwj Posted March 5, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 5, 2023 Went today and thoroughly enjoyed the show good mix of layouts and trade and always a good crowd around the euxton layout (although I do prefer Alderford)! Also got some bargain buildings from the club stall. Thanks for a great show Mark
Jeremy Davison
Hi Mark, Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed the show. Yes, its was always busy out the front of Euxton Jnct. If you really want to see Alderford again, it's out in three weeks at Alexander Palace in London. Cheers Jeremy
RMweb Premium Dragonfly Posted March 6, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 6, 2023 (edited) Many thanks to Les, Jeremy, and the rest of the Preston team for hosting a very enjoyable show. Myself and the rest of the Stafford bunch had a great weekend operating Stackton Tressell, as well as watching the terrific collection of other layouts present (Eli Wood, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Euxton Junction, Whithorn... I could just list all of the layouts, they were all stunning). ...I'm absolutely knackered this morning, though... 5 C
A good day out at the Preston show on the Saturday. A first time for me as I normally frequent the south east England exhibition circuit. Some excellent layouts on display and good to catch up with John Holden and the Lime Street crew. Good to hear they are undeterred by recent events and are continuing to develop their excellent layout and building back the loco fleet. Had a good old rummage through the various second hand items and bagged a few bargains including a non-runner (now running) Bachmann Jubilee from the club stand. Finally a few pictures of Euxton Junction. Fantastic to see this layout in the flesh as I grew up nearby. I couldn't quite see my parents' house (my lodgings for the weekend) as in scale terms it was probably the first track of the fiddle yard.
