  1. I'll be driving over the road bridge at the end of the layout to pick up another of the operators for Star Lane at Macc. Small world innit? ;-) See you there.
  2. That's the price per bogie. Not per pair. I blagged four of the Fishbelly type for my B-set project as soon as I was aware that they were available. They are very nice and great vale for the money IMHO. Arrived in the post PDQ too. :-)
  3. Ladies and Gentlemen, I proudly present The Malbororough Arms, St John's Street, Chester. Local legend says that back in the day a cac handed signwriter added the extra "or" to the Malborough Arms and as most folk were illiterate at the time nobody noticed until it was too late.
  4. No. Different tooling and decoration would be required to do 20001 instead of 20002. At no point in time were 20001 and 20002 exactly the same! So they've saved a lot of time by "just hitting repeat" on their original BR(S) green 20002. it sold out on pre-order, so there's clearly more demand than supply. I was lucky and blagged one the first time around but had I missed out I'd be greteful for this opportunity.
  5. EFE have apparently announced a new batch of their OO gauge model of the Southern Railway ‘Booster’ electric locomotive No. 20002 in BR green livery as it sold out on initial release. Source: an e-mail from TMC.

As previously discussed, a shunting locomotive should display a red and white light at both ends. Unfortunately, Heljan have fitted this locomotive with directional lighting, so the lights are only illuminated at the “front” end and not both ends. Has anybody any experience of modifying the wiring in these locos so that both ends are lit when the power is applied and not just the front? For the avoidance of doubt, I use old school analogue DC and not any kind of DCC digital witchcraft. Cheers, Bob.
  7. As much as I would love to continue to support Warley MRC through their exhibition, the chosen date this yearclashes with the unmissable Furness Model Railway Club exhibition. So, as the "dragons" say, I'm out! Now, the previous weekend is the former Wigan show weekend and largely free from clashes IFAIK.
  8. I'll throw in my expectations as an exhibitor. This is verbaitim from my layout information sheets. "Transport: 2 Private Cars. No van hire but fuel expenses, tolls, ULEZ and congestion charges will be required. Travelling: Distance no object, but overnight accommodation is required for journeys exceeding much more than an hour." Although "accomodation" doesn't specifically include "breakfast", in the UK context one can safely assume that "acccomodation" will be read as "bed and breakfast". HTH
  9. "Hello Thomas", said Gerttie the gas axe. "Oh ****" said Thomas. 😉
  10. It's just that I switch on the blower while the train is waiting in the platform, like what I've heard real engine drivers do. So if you could map it to F8 on kettle 762 that would be most helpful. :-)
  11. I doubt that Warners would do this is, but for RMwebbers it's now "The Warnley Show". 😉
  12. AKAIK Chiltern do not have any onboard catering. So the MkVs will serve them as they are.
  13. Rob, This is entirely correct. A locomotive engaged in shunting should show a red light and white light at both ends. A through back to the days of oil lamps when it was impractical to change the lamps every time the shunting locomotive changed direction. If you altered this you'd be introducing an error! HTH
  14. On the class 12s the roofs were pinted black, not green / grey. Photo of preserved loco as I can't find an original colour pic online. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_12#/media/File:15224_at_Spa_Valley_Railway,_Tunbridge_Wells_West_depot.jpg
