RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted March 12, 2023 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted March 12, 2023 Building the layout made Mel hungry so we came up with a new way to feed him. Dispatching desk controlling the chaos, well that was the theory. We had four passenger stations and ran Metro services amongst freight. Geoff building switch lists in JMRI to give the crews jobs. we had a couple a new operators and they thoroughly enjoyed it.

RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted March 12, 2023 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted March 12, 2023 Now Chris got here and had a nagging feeling something was missing when he realised his train was shorter than the motive power! After much barracking from his fellow Midlands contingent . . . The locos trundled back from Alpha to Lutley to collect the rear half of the train! 😆 Engineer & Conductor were presented with a special award.

RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted March 12, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 12, 2023 It was a great weekend so thanks to Paul for starting htis thread and to all those that put a lot of effort in to make it happen. Made even better with bacon rolls for breakfast and a good lunch. For some of us it was under half hour from home but many it was a much longer trip. I was under instruction to give my other halfs two KCS locos a good run. She likes buying such locos but wont drive them, so today these locos had a run of around two hours on quite a complicated switching list taking the train over a good proportion of the Freemo set up. Luckily there were two of us doing this list but quite often it can just be one person. By the time we had completed the run it was nearly time for lunch and a rest. 6

AlanRogers
Fantastic photos @PaulRhB thank you. Knowing @warbonnetuk and @roundhouse for some years, and been along to a couple of these meets, discussions are afoot! It's just possible that you might be getting another operator at future events. Not necessarily me I hasten to add though, if the planets align and his interest is confirmed, I suspect I'll be browbeaten into some woodbutchery at a future date as well. RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted March 14, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 14, 2023 (edited) There were plenty of passenger services over the weekend as there were quite a few passenger stations. Fort Myers fiddleyard was solely used for stabling passenger stock. I ran my Amtrak with a P42 as power with a cabbage on the rear There was even an up to date Amtrak service with two Chargers that someone brought. Even a NCTD Sprinter made it all the way from SoCal And finally I had to give my Trirail set a run as it is probably the closest commuter service to Fort Myers but seen here approaching Blue Ridge. .
