RMweb Premium Hilux5972 Posted May 26, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 26, 2023 Just completed PO261 and 263 terraced houses and corner shop for a street scene that will eventually sit above my station in the background. I noticed after gluing the houses and shop together that the rear wall door of the shop now goes up against the rear wall of the house. Has this shop been designed to have a walkway between it and the houses next door? Doesn’t really bother me as it won’t be seen from the front of the layout but I was just curious. They would originally need an access so the nightsoil man could empty the privies.

I was under the impression that this only happened if there was a short/narrow front garden. Happy to be proven wrong, but it does look a little weird. Free At Last
@ISW I bought my first house in this street in Seaforth, Merseyside in 1972 for £975.00. Have you never seen Coronation Street? Edited May 27, 2023 by Free At Last 1

AyJay
Hi Hilux, I have used these very same models to make a street scene, the only difference is that the corner shop at at the other end of the terrace. That way, you don’t get a back gate going to nowhere. Can you rearrange your positioning? Or re-do your back walls so that the gates all look right?
