stewartingram
Anyone know a source of GER wagon buffers in 4mm? I've recently purchased a small number of 3D printed GER wagons from ebay, and need some buffers for them. Not fussed over the type - plastic/metal/3D print/sprung or not wil do. I can be more specific on the vehicles if need be.
PaulG
From the Great Eastern Railway Society website, 4mm Modelling Document Modelling (gersociety.org.uk) , try: Dart Castings - MJT Range Paul
Dungrange
I was just looking at the same document (https://www.gersociety.org.uk/images/stories/documents/Modelling_the_railways_of_East_Anglia_in_4mm_Scale_Issue_8_February_2021_final.pdf) Dart Castings do buffers, but none are specifically highlighted as GER pattern - https://www.dartcastings.co.uk/mjt.php#WagonComponents-Buffers The only other suggestion from the GER Society is Model Railway Developments. I can only see a Facebook page for them, but you could enquire by either e-mail or through Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/people/Model-Railway-Developments/100064054482394/
Sweedy
The GER used round base parallel buffer stocks. Initially these appear to be without ribs, but later with 4 equal ribs. You would have to check what is correct for your particular wagons. Another possible source would be Lanarkshire Models and Supplies. They have a round based wagon buffer B033 which might be suitable for the non-ribbed type. The equivalent ribbed buffer does not have equal ribs. I have not used this particular type but others from their range are very crisp castings.
RMweb Gold Bucoops Posted July 25, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 25, 2023 Try @billbedford?
billbedford
1. From normal viewing distances I can't see any difference between GER and GNR buffers. 2. I may make my sprung buffers available as stand-alone items in the nearish future. 1
