That sounds like a great what if location ,back in the mid 1980s i spent many happy weeks on  peterborough station when i was on leave from work, the daily fly ash train to Fletton was always a bit special quite often a brand new class 58 was at the helm ,class 45 and 56 could also be seen on this working,i always felt a bit uninterested if a class 47 showed up!today i would love to see a 47 on a long rake of those presflo wagons!

@Clive martinamazing ive seen a few videos of this period and love the fly Ash trains, yes funny  how you miss the ordinary stuff once its gone, I did the same with the class 43s paid no attention to them when they was racing through huntingdon and stopping at Peterbrough.

I'd love the swe any of those class mentioned working regular frieght now.

Peterborugh still got plenty of frieght but lacking much variety

You are correct Peterborough is still a great freight hot spot ,sadly the passenger railway is just not the same except for the remaining class 91 mk4 sets ,and the charter trains loco services west coast railway company etc, liveing in suffolk seeing class 43 hst sets was always a treat i will never forget the thrill of seeing them hammer through Huntington and watching them leave Peterborough crossing over onto the fast line ,the best bit was always the rear power car screaming past, back in anglia it was always the first gen dmus that i took for granted like the old class 105 cravens Ipswich was always full of them now sadly their are only 3 cravens vehicles left, another freight fav of mine was the ketton to castle Bromich cement tanks that used to run to Peterborough for its loco to run round and head back out on the Leicester line often a class 25 or 45 great days ,i realy must stop my waffle i could write a book about my memorys of the way the railways used to be 30+ years ago seems like yesterday to me!

Hey @EWS60065 thank you very much. yes im surpirsed not more people attempt them seem vital for up to dat engineering trains. Yours are really nice a lot better built than mine.

I love the OCAs so many interesting versions and livery combos, I've got loads on the go

really liking your salmon wagons, I had a go at building some but just couldn't get them to run without immediately derailing, so gave up on the kits. would love to have some salmon wagons though.

Some wagons currently on the work bench!

My 1st Bachmann MXA wagon, very nice model! Choose the one with the brake wheels attached to the bogies, first as I have 5 3d printed/BDA conversions all with brake lever and secondly I was on the Skipping Devonion railtour and saw this graffiti covered example as we headed home. 20231008_144144.jpg.d0dcb761e6a6df0e67168509be6dee80.jpg

After a quick search on Flickr finding pictures of said wagon! Tagged Jason and Auto, still to be weathered, graffiti added and started toning down the sole bar so far

Next on the work bench is the sole DB red MHA wagon

So far just a few washes of white and pink to represent the fading paint work. MHA being the latest release from accurscale

some of my first attempts at weathering my loco fleet, two TPE class 68s.

inspired by Timara Easters weathering in British Railways Modern Freight Locomotives, and seeing several examples in York earlier this year in a rather dirty state.

first up is 68031 Felix, this is the standard Dapol releases with added purple name template and gold bothers, I saw this loco several times in this state running light loco in and out of York.

Next up is 68030 Black Douglas, also seen stable at York. knew I wanted to model this example as just really liked the name, this is just a renamed/numbered from one of the recent Dapol release.

Both locos found stabled at Fletton Road shed.

Some more finished wagons

Starting with an OCA. Managed to find images of both sides so weathered accordingly.

Original a Dutch livered wagon and mostly repainted into faded railfright red.

I picked this wagon due to the miss match doors on one side

Next up another OBA finished based on images from Flickr, on side is correct to the tops code.

And the two wagons together

Also finished is my 1st Bachmann MXA wagon.

This wagon was chosen as saw it on a recent railtour and wanted to recreate the graffiti

Wagons completed in the last few days one MHA and an OCA

MHA pretty simple weathering just copied prototype that had same number as Hornby release

OCA little more involved, heavy rusted and faded satlink livered wagon, copied diffenet wagons for either side.
