Smalltrainsgreatpains
As a nooby brass bender, I found this chassis construction video to be of great help. At the 14:26 mark 'Trespa' is referenced. I guess it's used as it's a heat resistant counter top, but I don't know exactly what thickness is used or where to get an off cut like that. Does it have to be Trespsa, is there something better, where can I get small off cuts from? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keTAs_Qriys
RMweb Premium Ian Morgan Posted October 29, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 29, 2023 You can get some free samples here: https://www.trespa.com/en_GB/sample-selector This is what the video creator did, I believe.
Jan W
Trespa is a Dutch brand of HPL panels (high pressure laminate). This seems to be a leading UK brand: https://www.elspanels.co.uk It must be widely used in the UK too, here in the Netherlands it seems as if everything that people don’t want to paint is clad in Trespa (HPL of course…) panels: dormers, roof gutters, boards around the flat roof of house extensions etc. Jan
yaxxbarl
I did for a moment think it was a possible new layout project to be set in Cornwall!
Smalltrainsgreatpains
Samples ordered! And I gained a new profession through ordering to boot 😁 Seriously though, that stuff looks good enough to be used on camper conversions, and has! Might just use some for a counter top.
Smalltrainsgreatpains
Bit of an afterthought. Can anyone vouch as to how true/flat Trespa is? If its really good I might grab a larger piece to use as an assembly plate.
