21A Desperado
Sorry, its another "where can I get hold of" thread from me! I've recently done some of SKOG's Barbel and Tope kits, and am after some transfers. I contacted Steve at Railtec, and he doesn't do them at present, can anyone kindly suggest another supplier that does please? Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance I think I saw a request come in via email (may or may not have been from yourself) but thanks to the mother of all backlogs for requests to help with projects I simply haven't been able to respond to it yet. I do this pack in 4mm for Tope. Would this suit in 7mm? 4mm-6951 https://www.railtec-models.com/showitem.php?id=1872 I do this pack in 4mm for Barbel. Would this suit in 7mm? 4mm-7521 https://www.railtec-models.com/showitem.php?id=10636 As you can see, I make the data panels all different, like the real things. Even the maintenance charts. I'm not sure if anyone else is mad enough to go to that level of detail with design, but when I would catch a brief glimpse of whatever layout would be between the Railtec stand and the loo at Warley, it would irk me to see that more often than not the wagons would all look the same.

Hi Steve, On these wagon transfer packs that contain lots of different numbers for the same type of wagon, would it be possible to include a couple of notes on the website as to which livery wagon the number matches? I have been trying to work through the MEA packs trying to match the numbers to prototype liveries and its proving quite tricky, for the dogfish I have done previously I resorted to rough assumptions. Thanks In an ideal world where resource is infinite then yes I would love to. But the reality is that in order for Railtec to continue doing what it does, setting more time aside beyond the monstrous amount of time it already takes to carefully design each unique TOPS panel to laboriously list what livery each wagon carried at a specific point in time (and they would evolve, let's not forget) would potentially be hugely time consuming = fewer new releases = higher costs for everyone so the business can continue to stand on its own two feet. In the case of the MEA packs as your example (c.f. 4mm-6072), I believe they're all in EWS colours as they have the accompanying EWS branding. And in some cases photographic evidence may not even exist anyway so there would inevitably be gaps in the info I'd be able to provide. I generally find Flickr to be the go-to resource (for me at least) when searching on a specific wagon number.
