Jol Wilkinson
My track has ply sleepers and timbering (EMGS or Scalefour) which I stain using Liberon spirit based stain. It is available in a variety of colours that can be mixed to get the result you want. https://liberon.co.uk/product/spirit-wood-dye/
fulton
Just to check are your model sleepers plastic, ply or wood? if plastic I paint with dark brown, if ply or wood I have given them a thin wash of dark brown.
RMweb Premium Siberian Snooper Posted March 19 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 19 Most woodwork weather's to a silvery grey colour, only new sleepers and timbers are original creosote brown the rest of the trackwork is various levels of rusty brake dust and other contaminants, especially if you model the pre- retention tank era.
