Here are a couple more pictures taken by my brother Steve.

They would have been taken between July 1980, when he joined the WR Civil Engineers in Bristol,

and July 1986 when he moved to the SR Civil Engineers in Croydon on promotion.

Taken from the Dyserth Branch, Class 40 No.40097 is passing Prestatyn with the 11.12 Trafford Park-Holyhead Freightliner on 4th August 1979. Progress has eliminated telegraph poles, goods yards, Class 40s and container trains to Holyhead. It will continue to eliminate bullhead track and semaphore signals....

A bit of creative reality distortion here, a composite of three separate shots.

You can still see the joins if you look hard enough, particularly below the bridge. The worst thing was that the lighting levels, camera angle and possibly zoom level had all changed slightly between shots. If I went back to do it, I'd set up a tripod and kept the same framing.

Messing about around the shed (Lees) in 1960. The 'Crab' wasnt ours. I thought at the time it made a neat contrast with the Austerity design and solid bogie wheels.....
