RMweb Gold Revolution Ben Posted September 11, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 11, 2010 The N Gauge Society announced three new or revised kits at the N Gauge International Show at Leamington. Kit 12b - BR Bogie Bolster BDW/BDV 200 BR-built bogie bolster wagons were fitted with 3-part bogies when built in 1958/9. Under TOPS they were coded BDW or BDV. Although not fitted with air brakes, some lasted long enough to be given EWS livery. As well as steel traffic, they were also used by the CE Engineers departments. Using our existing bogie bolster mouldings from kit 12 - BR BDA - we are releasing this model as kit 12b with appropriate bogies and decals. Kit 27b - Salmon track wagon 1998+ From 1998, 400 long-serving Salmon engineer’s wagons - originally designed to carry 60’ track panels - were fitted with new ASF bogies improving performance and reliability. Most remain in engineer’s yellow, though some have been repainted into EWS livery. We will be reversioning our kit 27 as kit 27b for this variant, with one-piece Gloucester bogies - which are an almost identical design to the ASF bogies - and appropriate decals. Kit 43 - Osprey track wagon 2009+ In mid 2009, nearly 200 Salmons were modified again - with the addition of sturdy end frames and off-centre fixed stanchions to allow easy loading with track panels. This version is also to be produced, with additional detailing parts and decals, and will be kit 43. These kits are expected to become available in Winter/Spring 2011. cheers Ben A. Steadfast
Hi Ben, good to see you yesterday The Salmon developments are excellent news! I have a Salmon in bits trying to fit some Microtrains US bogies - kit 27b looks like it should solve this problem nicely And as for the Osprey kit...well, that was the next mod I was going to try and scratchbuild. Very happy cheers jo
