RMweb Gold 96701 Posted October 7, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 7, 2010 The distance from the bottom of my baseboards to the bottom of the face on which it stands on the legs is 9.3cm. This gives about 1.5cm clearance underneath the connections at the bottom of the Tortoise point motors.

hollywoodfoundry
Before you get too far down the track with Tortoise motors, consider the Cobalt motor from DCC Concepts: http://www.dccconcepts.com/index_files/Cobalt_turnout_motor.htm The Cobalt is only half the size of the Tortoise and is considered by many who have tried it to be a superior product. I believe DCC Concepts are represented in the UK, but I do not know who, perhaps someone can advise.

It says this on their website United Kingdom Cobalt will be available in UK from the following specialist retailers: Bromsgrove Models, DCCsupplies, Digitrains and Trains’n’railways as well as Gaugemaster stockists from across the UK
