Kaian
Has anyone else bought the Cross Country HST 3 Car Set (371-481) ? I have had 3 sets arrive from an online retailer (not named as its not their fault) and 2 have had problems with the rear wheel set on the motorised end; first one the back wheels were not moving at all, second one the same set of wheels moved intermittently but very slowly when they did move. Luckily the final set is all ok. Looks like there is a faulty batch is this common? I am only getting started in modelling and my experience with Graham Farish products is starting to wane a bit. woodenhead
Farish are pretty good normally, surprised you have bought a Farish HST model so close to the Dapol model being released.
RMweb Premium Kris Posted October 23, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 23, 2010 The one which has wheels that don't move might have a split gear. This is far less common than it used to be several years ago. As wooden head said Dapol are just about to bring out an HST model. It is significantly more expensive than the Farish version, but from the look of the images so far released by Dapol it is a significant improvement over the Farish model. Kaian
It was on offer about half off so I thought why not. I also only saw the news of the Dapol one yesterday, and will likely get that one too along with the grand central. I will keep getting Farish models in future then, just had a few bad lucks.
